Richard Mille RM65-01 CA-RG

The new RM 65-01 from premium watchmaker Richard Mille is a highly complex sports watch designed for everyday wear. The RM65-01’s automatic split-seconds chronograph took five years to develop. Its high-frequency variable-inertia balance, operating at 5Hz and 36,000 vibrations per hour, enables the movement’s chronograph function to achieve exceptional precision, achieving 1/10th of a second accuracy.
Developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, the integrated movement features a six-tooth column wheel and vertical coupling mechanism. This allows the movement to draw power from a rapidly rotating barrel, maintaining optimal energy transmission throughout its approximately 60-hour power reserve, ultimately ensuring precise and accurate operation. Furthermore, this movement features a unique design: while traditional watches rely on a rotating crown to wind the movement, the RM65-01 uses a push-button system, offering intuitive and convenient operation. Simply pressing the pusher at 8 o’clock 125 times fully winds the movement, ready for the next chronograph calculation. Richard Mille has also incorporated five colors into the dial to represent different functions: the hours, minutes, and small seconds are marked in yellow, while the date is displayed in green. The chronograph seconds hand and minute counter are tied into a vibrant orange color scheme, while the rattrapante hand is blue for added distinction.
